How to Place a Bet on Sporttrade Web – Sporttrade

Our web version has been approved for use in New Jersey, Arizona, Colorado, Iowa, and Virginia.

This guide walks you through placing a bet from your desktop or web app, choosing a market, selecting a side, entering your amount or price, submitting your order, and closing a position.

Prerequisites
You’re logged in, physically located in a Sporttrade-supported state, and the Xpoint Verify app is installed/running.

Step 1 — Pick a sport and a matchup

Use the sports tabs (e.g., MLB, NFL, LIVE) to filter the feed.
Find your game tile and click a market block (Winner, Point/Run Spread, or Total). This opens the trade panel on the right.
Need more choices? Click More Markets under a matchup for alternates and props.

Step 2 — Choose Buy or Sell

Buy = backing the outcome (going long).
Sell = taking the opposite side (going short).

Pick your side: Tap the outcome button in the panel (e.g., team name or Over/Under). The selected side highlights.

Step 3 — Enter your amount or set a price

You can trade by amount (Dollars or Shares) or set your own price to post liquidity (limit order):

Buy in dollars: Enter cash amount; we convert to shares at the current price.
Buy in shares: Enter contracts; we show the cash needed.
Set a price (dollars or shares): Place a limit order at your chosen price to post liquidity if it’s not immediately available.

Payout if you win shows your return if the outcome wins. Adjust the amount/price until it looks right. Max indicates the top-of-book size available for instant execution.

Display preferences: In Settings (top-right), set defaults for Dollars vs Shares and Percent Odds vs Traditional (American odds).

Step 4 — Place the order

Click Place Buy Order or Place Sell Order.
If the market moves, accept the updated price to continue.
Your order may fill fully, partially, or rest on the book based on liquidity.

Track fills and open orders in Account → Trading Activity (Trades & Settlements, Open Orders, Activity Ledger).

Step 5 — Review or close a position

Go to Portfolio → Positions to see your active trades. Use the quick actions to exit or adjust.

Close Position: One-click shortcut that opens the correct side (Buy or Sell) to flatten your exposure.
Sell Now / Buy Now: Execute immediately against the top of book.

Open Orders / Trades / Settlements: Find all activity under Trading Activity.

Troubleshooting

Place Order disabled: Enter a valid amount/price or check available liquidity.
Order not filling: Reduce size, adjust price toward the top of book, or wait for more liquidity.
Location error: Relaunch Xpoint Verify, restart the browser, and confirm OS location permissions.
