Buying shares
To buy shares:
- First, find a contest and outcome you want to trade on
- Tap "Buy" on the outcome you wish to buy.
- Note: the "Buy" price shown will reflect the "Offer", the price a seller is currently willing to accept for the share.
- Decide if you want a Market Buy (selected by default) or switch to a Limit Buy
- Decide if you want to buy in dollars (selected by default) or switch to shares
- Enter a quantity of dollars or shares.
- You will see a preview of your order's cost and potential profit in the "Place Order" button.
- Tap the "Place Order" button.
- You will then see a confirmation screen with a summary of your order.
Selling shares
To sell shares on an existing position:
- First, find a contest and outcome you want to trade on, or navigate to your existing position from the Portfolio tab.
- Tap "Sell" on the outcome you wish to sell.
- Note: the "Sell" price shown will reflect the "Bid", the price a buyer is currently willing to pay for the share.
- Decide if you want a Market Sell (selected by default) or switch to a Limit Sell
- Decide if you want to buy in dollars (selected by default) or switch to shares
- Enter a quantity of dollars or shares.
- You will see a preview of your order's cost and potential profit in the "Place Order" button.
- Tap the "Place Order" button.
- You will then see a confirmation screen with a summary of your order.
Note: to sell shares you don't already hold a position on ("shorting") you must be in Advanced Trading mode.
Referencing your placed orders
Once you have placed an Order, you can find it in "Orders & Trades":
- Go to the Portfolio tab
- Tap on "Orders & Trades"
- If your order was filled, you can find it under "Trades"
- If you placed an order that has not been filled, you can find it under "Open Orders"
*Exchange wagering is not yet available in Iowa and Virginia.
